It’s not goodbye…it’s see you later.
SOOO - I am officially closing to the public. BUT I can’t fully say goodbye to you guys!!
Honestly, I have watched your children and families grow and I feel a really special place in my heart for you! Many of you have been with me from the beginning - I think that is 11 years?!? But it is time for a new season in my life.
I have needed to pursue a career path that would bring insurance to my family. I am excited to be working for Northwestern Medicine as a part-time Chaplain as I earn my CPE’s (Clinical Pastoral Education) which are required to become full time. By the end of next summer I should be completed with those hours and find a full time position. I have found that doing both photography and that, as well as being a single mom, has proven to be more than I can juggle, though I am excited that I really love the change and am grateful to do such meaningful work.
I have given up my studio space and have said goodbye to so many of my fun props and sets, so cake smashes and studio sessions are no longer an option. But for at least the next year (and possibly as long as I’m needed), I am able and willing to offer outdoor and in-home sessions - FOR PREVIOUS CLIENTS ONLY.
Have a newborn on the way? We can do an in-home newborn session.
Need to refresh those kiddos yearly portraits? We can do outdoor milestone sessions.
Want to continue capturing the growth of your family each year with summer or fall photos? I’m happy to meet you at a beautiful forest preserve to continue the tradition. This goes for family photos, but also maternity and senior photos too.
Logistically - things may look and feel a little different, so be patient with me!
I am so incredibly sad to be saying goodbye to having an assistant. Ashley has been the key partner in this business that has kept it going.
I know full well that I could not have done it without her, nor would I have wanted to. I am grateful though that I don’t say goodbye to her - she will forever remain my friend! Thank you Ashley for being so amazing and partnering with me for so many years!!
The website and Facebook will still be up (carriecunninghamphotography.com) and you can still request sessions through there, but instead of hearing from Ashley, you’ll be hearing from me and I may not have the ability to respond as quickly as Ashley has. So please grace me with your patience!
I am tender as I think of how to close this note. I am picturing so many of you and your families. I am so profoundly grateful for the joy of being a part of capturing memories. I have been blessed to have such an amazing base of clients who have become friends. I hope to still see many of you as I begin to now do photography more “casually” and un-officially!
